Primarily working with mining applications, Rohder Machine & Tool, Inc. CNC machined this aluminum bronze crowd drive for a client within the surface mining industry. We manufactured this product through a combination of CNC turning and milling processes, and included a chamfer hole on both sides of the crowd drive. We held the tolerance down to ±0.005 inches throughout the process. We achieved a maximum material finish of 125 Ra. With an approximate weight of 18 lbs., this new aluminum bronze crowd drive measured 21.750 inches in length with a diameter of 2.015 inches and a thread of 2.000-4.5 UNC-2A. Steel Gear Case Stud

 Catering to mining clients, Rohder Machine & Tool, Inc.  CNC turned this stud designed for use within a gear case for a mining application. In addition to turning, we applied roll threading during the manufacture of the steel gear case stud and conducted inspection to ensure standards were met. Working within the tightest tolerances of ±0.002 inches, the maximum material finish was 63 Ra. With an approximate weight of 16.5 lbs., this steel based stud measured 26.000 inches in length with a diameter of 1.750 inches and a thread of 1.7500-5UNR-2A. Steel Ratchet Gear

Tailoring our process to meet the needs of a material handling industry client, Rohder Machine & Tool, Inc.  CNC machined this steel ratchet gear. We rough and finish turned both the inside and outside diameters. Next, we milled the ratchet teeth profile, and drilled necessary holes. We held tolerances down to ±0.001 inches throughout the process, and achieved a maximum material finish of 32 Ra. The overall dimension of this steel ratchet gear measured 3.000 inches high, with an outside diameter of 16.000 inches, an inside diameter of 6.875 inches and a total of 23 teeth. We manufactured these screws using several methods, including hot forging, CNC turning, and roll threading. The final components featured an outer diameter of 1.50 inches, a hardness of 38/40 Rc and a thread of 1-1/2"-6-2A. We held tolerances down to ±0.002 inches, achieving a maximum material finish of 63 Ra. As a solution for a client in the power generation industry, Rohder Machine & Tool, Inc. manufactured this Steel Trunnion Bolt using hot forging and CNC turning. During these processes, we rough and finish turned, undercut, chamfered, and threaded the outside diameters. The final bolts had an outside diameter of 2.50 inches, a hardness of 26/30 Rc and a thread of 2-1/2"-4-3A. To meet the customer's supplied standards, we held the tolerance down to ±0.005 inches, and achieved a maximum material finish of 63 Ra. Rohder Machine & Tool, Inc. manufactured this steel frame assembly to accommodate a client in the steel mill industry. Using several processes, including CNC turning, CNC milling, MIG and TIG welding, and assembly, we worked with conventional and stainless steel. The final assembly had a length, width, and height of 32 inches, 28 inches, and 38 inches, respectively. We held tolerances down to ±0.005 inches, and achieved a maximum material finish of 125 Ra.
